Injustice: Gods Among Us (iOS) review

Man, the moment I saw this on the app store (before having a console) I marked out big time and immediately downloaded it on my phone. It was free and I have played all the way through it. I realized if you have the patience it takes to grind a bit you can get through the whole game without micro transactions. It is a basic fighting game with tag team elements. I've played nothing like this on the iPhone unless it was paid for. Collecting cards of DC characters has never been more fun and NetherRealm Studios have realized their fanbase on the mobile apps because they have added a mobile exclusive character, Darkseid. My own favorite is Wonder Woman (Regime) and after a while of coming back it has changed a bit with more levels and a gear system.

 While trying to get a divorce from her high school sweet heart Charlie Bodell (Nicholas Cage), Peggy Sue (Kathleen Turner) attends her high school reunion with her daughter and meets old friends from the high school. Among these friends Richard Norvik (Bary Miller) is the most successful having written multiple books. But when she and Richard are chosen as the king and the queen of the reunion she passes out and wakes up in her high school in the 60's. Having the experiences she has had as an adult she tries to make her life better by doing better things for her friends and herself.

The reason for watching or even stumbling onto this movie is the involvement of Nicholas Cage (Kick-Ass) and Jim Carrey (The Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind). There are parts in this movie which are worst for me since I don't get it but mostly it is a great story about reevaluation and rethinking your choices in love and life. The movie might start a little slow with some downtime but it picks up real fast and starts becoming an awesome romantic story. By the way did I mention Francis Ford Coppola (The Godfather Part II) directed this awesome movie? 8/10

The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers Extended Edition Review (2002)

Faramir: [To Frodo and Sam] My men tell me that you are Orc spies.
Sam: Spies! Now wait just a minute!
Faramir: Well, if you're not spies, then who are you?

The two towers follows a fallen king, Theodon (Bernard Hill) who is controlled by his advisor Wormtongue (Brad Dourif) |in one of my favorite performances ever| and Saruman (Christopher Lee). Frodo (Elijah Wood) and Samwise (Sean Astin) have continued their quest and now are in Mordor after being accompanied by the Fellowship. Now Saruman is uniting the two towers with one another to give more power to Sauran and his army. Meanwhile Legolas (Orlando Bloom) and Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen) and the rest of the Fellowship are healing the wounds of losing Gandalf (Ian McKellen).

Now the quote up there wasn't that important to the entire plot but in a way it was. My point is that this is how great this very movie was, every quote, every moment, every scene and every creature was so well put together and well done that I don't dare to give this movie anything under a 10/10.

DC Showcase: Green Arrow

Well, here is another great short film that I found on the inter-webs. I think its still up on Beyond the Lot's channel on YouTube, regardless I'll put a link in the description. I really love these DC Showcases because they introduce you to a villain that has nothing to do with the two major heroes (Superman/Batman) and keeping the DCAU tone while also staying faithful to the comics. Finally the voice acting is top notch as well. Green Arrow (voiced by Neal McDonough) is going to pick up Black Canary (voiced by Grey Griffin) from the airport on the same day that the princes (turned queen as of her father's death last night) of Lativa, Perdita (voiced by Ariel Winter) is arriving. Her uncle Count Vertigo (voiced by Steve Blum) wants her dead so he could become the king and Merlyn the Magnificent (voiced by Malcolm McDowell) is assisting him in his conquest. Ten out of freaking ten.

Dumb and Dumber To (2014) review

Dumb and Dumber to is a sequel to the 1994 film Dumb and Dumber, directed by the Farrelly Brothers and starring Jim Carrey as Lloyd Christmas and Jeff Daniels as Harry Dunne, 20 years after the events of the original film Lloyd is put in an insane asylum after being completely frozen and shocked when he couldn't (spoiler alert for the first film) get with Mary Swanson but later it turns out to be a 20 year gag which he played on Harry who visited him everyday. When they go back to their old apartment, Billy (Brady Bluhm) now has a collection of birds and Harry has a new roommate who makes crystal meth named Ice Pick (Bill Murray). But Harry needs a kidney transplant surgery but has no donor since his parents adopted him and don't want to donate their own kidney. Later he finds a postcard from Fraida Felcher (Kathleen Turner) telling him that she's pregnant. So he makes a plan to get his daughter's kidney. But when they go to Freida's funeral house they find out her daughter was adopted by a rich professor named Dr. Pinchelow (Steve Tom). They go on a roadtrip to find Harry's daughter Penny (Rachel Melvin) and that kidney!

I don't want to go further into the plot because there are so many well placed jokes in there that I might ruin it. I saw this movie in a jam packed theatre in KLCC and man, laughing out loud with about a hundred people is the best thing in the universe. I went into this movie thinking it couldn't outdo the original in no shape or form but would still be a great movie. But man was I wrong. It had the same amount of laughs added with new jokes and this time there was a serious emotional plot which made the movie less dumb. I also like how Harry and Lloyd evolve and do actually get smarter than the original, showing truly that 20 years has passed. Anyway the only complaints I can have is that there wasn't enough of Rob Riggle and this could have been an opportunity for the king of comedy himself Jim Carrey to pass the torch to one of the funniest comedy guys out there but alas. Anyway this was an awesome movie and made me laugh all the way through. 10/10
